Oliver Henry Candles: Three Important Things to Know

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Over the next few weeks, we are going to introduce who we are, why we started the candle company and where we hope to go. Sort of a past, present and future look at Oliver Henry Candle Company. 

So let’s start with who we are! There are so many different ways to approach this definition. Who are we- as in our founders, who are we- as in our beliefs as a company and who are we- as in our physical product. Let’s explore all of the above in an effort for YOU to understand US. After all...that’s what it’s all about...us connecting with you!

Founders-Hi! I’m Stacey Jordan and my husband is Andy. We have two sons, Oliver and Henry. (I include these two smaller precious souls as founders because as you will see, if you stick with us, they are a big part of this endeavor!) I am an interior designer (mainly residential), graduate of Auburn University, with a love for creating.....creating new spaces, creating new ideas, creating new businesses (or dreaming of them 😉) creating new products, just creating! I feel like my brain never stops and if I’m being honest, I thrive off of it. I admit my faults...not the most organized, sometimes a little too straight forward and easily distracted but I truly believe that these “faults” are all put within me by God to help me achieve all my creative goals! And, I mean seriously what creative person do you know who doesn’t live in of bit a chaos😄?

And on that note....let’s talk about the other half of Oliver Henry....Andy Jordan. 

Andy is a portfolio manager with a degree in accounting and masters in finance....yep...the total opposite of everything I am in this world. And the best part is, it works!! He is the balance of me in every aspect. He is the preciseness that our company could not survive without. He perfectly pours every one of our candles. He has the scientific brain that allows our candles to have the perfect balance of fragrance to wax for an amazing scent throw. He is our inventory counter and our financial statement go to. Sure our packaging and jars look amazing (my job by the way 😉) but what would we be without that perfect, creamy goodness found inside each of those jars...nothing of course. 

Whoa...we’ve covered a lot so far! Stick with me because the best part is next.

What are our beliefs-

"I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work."

Wait...that’s already taken (😉-by Auburn University). But it’s so true...we do believe in hard work but more importantly we believe in our Heavenly Father.  Andy and I both know we are nothing without our faith and walk with our Lord. It is He who blesses us with creative ideas, outlets to express them, customers to enjoy them and most importantly the patience to strive through it. It takes a lot of patience to keep this business of ours going....remember we are tooootal opposites! We believe in making a quality product, being honest, giving back and trusting in His plan for what’s to come.

And now...what is this candle you are buying?

Our candles are a soy blend wax with all cotton wicks and amazing fragrances! We hand pour each candle in Auburn, Alabama into frosted, giraffe print jars with our logo in 24k gold.

All of the materials used to make our candles are acquired from companies based in the USA. Our products include 11oz jar candles, 6oz travel tins and wax melts.

We are always asking what’s next and what do you as the customer need from us. We want to hear from you and expand our candle line and brand accordingly!
